I've worn various contact lenses over the years, both colored and non-colored, and gas permeable lenses. Although circle lenses have been out for quite a number of years, particularly in Asia, I've yet to feel the need to purchase them until recently, and wow do they make a difference. To be honest the whole idea sort of freaked me out at first, but you never know until you try right? Anyways, here's my review on my first set of circle lenses: Geo Nudy Greys.
These were taken in natural sunlight.
Enlargement Rating [5/5] - There was a definite enlargement defined by a thin dark limbal ring. My eyes are pretty dark and the picture kind of sucks so you might not be able to see it too well. Overall these lenses feature a 14.0 mm diameter, so they're pretty large, although compared to some of the new lenses out that give a 14.5 mm diameter, these may be small in comparison. =P
Comfort [3/5] - I have very sensitive eyes so typically I just wear my non-colored lenses for sight and comfort, so to be honest, nothing can beat Acuvue Oasys and Air O2 Optix in terms of comfort. But for circle lenses, these aren't half-bad. It's not really the contacts to blame, but I have a really steep base curve 8.0/8.3 so this may be why they aren't entirely comfortable on my eyes, since they only come in the median of 8.6 BC. And due to the more shallow BC, I find that it tends to slip slightly when I blink, but for those with a 8.6 BC, you shouldn't really have that much problems.
Color [3/5] - Ok, my eyes are a really dark brown, almost black, so in terms of color these don't really show up that well on my eyes. In the photo pictured above, they actually appear a lot lighter than they do in real life on me, but I'm sure that these will work for those with much lighter eyes than mine.
Realism [2/5] - Ok, let's face be honest here, if you're looking for natural looking lenses, you probably shouldn't even be looking into circle lenses. From the critiques I've been getting in real life from my friends, these definitely do not look natural.
Price [4/5] - For the price I paid with shipping and handling (which was just under $30), you definitely can't beat the price, especially for a vial-jar type of contact lens. Although I must admit that if you got some other lenses say Freshlook Colorblends, they do come out quite a bit cheaper per pair.
Total [3.4/5] - If you're looking for some circle lenses that are cute and cheap, these are definite must. Be warned though that if you have darker eyes like myself, you may find yourself disappointed like myself in terms of color, but if you're looking more for enlargement, than I'd highly recommend.
